Eric Davis, air talent at KBAC, Radio Free Santa Fe, possesses a diverse background in writing, advertising, music, entertainment marketing, and promotions on both a local and national level. He’s been working in entertainment and event production since age 17 -- starting out by carrying equipment for local bands, and progressing to producing albums; managing artists and tours; and writing songs in a variety of genres including, rock, pop, and country. He has been a part of the production team for some of the biggest events in the industry, including: Superbowl XXXVII, RockFest ‘97, CountryFest ‘96 and ‘97, the New York JVC Jazz Festival, the Benson & Hedges Blues Festival Tour, Ben & Jerry's Newport Folk Festival, and the first LiveAid. He has worked for The Warner Music Group, Billboard Publications, various record labels and entertainment agencies -- and prior to that had almost 10 years of experience in radio marketing and promotions in the Philadelphia market. As a journalist, Eric’s writing and photo credits include pieces in: Billboard, R&R, and The Philadelphia Inquirer -- along with columns appearing in Delaware Valley entertainment publications including: Fine Times Magazine, Out On The Town Magazine, The South Street Star, the Musician Artists Poets and Performers Journal, SantaFe.com, and New Mexico Magazine. He has booked talent for the 1999 Deep Ellum Arts Festival in Dallas (in addition to doing all of the marketing and publicity) and the 1997 Mosport Music Festival in Toronto. Eric launched the Social Media Program for SantaFe.com, created and ran the Event Sponsorship program for the Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company (Natural American Spirit); he has executed promotional campaigns for the 1998 Goodwill Games; and assisted in producing the Rolling Stones’ “Bridges to Babylon” show in Dallas in 1997 and Vibe Presents “Magic’s Showtime” event in New York in 1996. Additional projects include promotions for the 43rd Annual GRAMMY Awards, the 2001 MTV Movie Awards; along with Food Network’s “Full On Football 2001” program, the 2002 XGames in Dallas, and Frog Fest Five in Santa Fe. Recently, he produced the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Commencement Ceremonies, 2010 Community Day, and 2011 Portfolio Day for the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, (formerly the College of Santa Fe). Currently he is a writer and photographer for SantaFe.com, and Promotion Director for the Hutton Broadcasting cluster -- in addition to his on-air duties on KBAC.
