Featuring the bright, festive, and authentic flavors of Latin America and the Southwest, owner John Beaupre and Chef Fernando Ruiz have created a "must visit" restaurant in the heart of Santa Fe.
Upon entering MILAGRO 139 locals and visitors alike will marvel at the welcoming and comfortable bar and lounge which feature one of Santa Fe's most extensive lists of specialty tequilas. Milagro's selection of featured cocktails is sure to satisfy one's desire for the perfect margarita to the more adventurous "Italian Stallion." As you enter the dining room the arched wrought iron atrium, climbing bouganvillias, and the beautifully appointed wooden tables remind one of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Dining here is on two levels, with the upper overlooking the restaurant and bar below; plenty of spaces for an intimate dinner or for people watching.
Chef Ruiz has created a dining experience which highlights the absolute best of traditional Latin American cooking. Milagro 139's menu excites the palate with the rich and complex flavors of the Verde, Rosita, and Tradicional Moles, combined with the hearty flavors of Argentine beef tenderloin, grilled New Mexico lamb, roasted duck, and farm raised chicken. As so much of Mexico and Central America are surrounded by water, Guest ‘s will also savor the fresh and bright flavors of the classic Ceviche, the playfully piquant Sonoran Crab Cake, or the "catch of the day" preparedVeracruzana style with a trio of fresh salsas.

I visited Santa Fe for the first time this past fall after the balloon festival. Milagro's little courtyard entryway looked so inviting. I never usually drink margaritas but I have to say theirs were superb! Our food also was very good, I only wish the full menu was available all day. On the downside, we went twice while there and both times the service was very slow and the staff somewhat distant.

Good location and good atmosphere. The wine list was good and not overpriced. The margaritas were very good as well. Service was a little slow but not too bad. The food is overpriced for what you get. The $12 guacamole was very good but it was served with cheap prepackaged commercial chips. My husband had the steak special and loved it. I was perfectly cooked but for $30 that's expected. I had the pork Oso Bucco . The meat was tasty with a good mushroom sauce but the flavor of the mashed potatoes (heavy with cilantro) clashed with the the umami flavor of the braised meat and mushrooms. Everything together did not taste good... a disappointmentment for $26. Also there were no vegetables with my dish, nor with my friend's dish. She had the shrimp and scallop dish, which was a very stingy portion, three small shrimp and two small scallops (her dish looked nothing like the picture of it on this page). The desserts were o.k. We had the flan/creme brulee, which didn't do justice to either of these classics. The cheesecake chimichanga was tasty but a little dry; it could have used more sauce or even ice cream. Given the excellent restaurants in Santa Fe at this price point (Ristra and Santa Cafe for example) I don't think we'll have dinner here very often. But I am looking forward to coming back for drinks and appetizers at the bar.

I read the menu as I was passing the restaurant, and after reading the menu, I had to eat here. After making a reservation I went on line and read the reviews. I was more than apprehensive after reading some of the reviews about the service as I am a stickler for good service. I have to say this was NOT our experience at all. We were seated right away and someone was there promptly to take our drink order along with our appetizer order. We ordered the guacamole which is prepared table side. The gentleman who prepared our guacamole was very prompt and very charming. Our waitress (I should have got the names of our servers) was also very prompt and very accommodating, we truly enjoyed her as our server. We had absolutely fabulous service here and the food was just as fabulous!!!! My sister-in-law and I both had the Camarones Con Callos which was absolutely to die for! My brother-in-law had the Pork and my husband had the Filet. The entire experience was delicious and delightful and we will definitely return to Milagros when we are back in Santa Fe!!!

Our first visit was very pleasant. Our waiter was slow to warm up but he finally did and was very pleasant. He never interrupted our conversation and that is always appreciated and lately a pleasant surprise. A little later he was distracted by making a table side guac. and our order must have been delayed. However the steak with ancho-chili sauce was unbelievable & perfect, the enchilada del mar was very nice and the tres leches cake was perfectly heaven. Because of our entire experience, we will recommend and return.

WOW!!! The food was awsome good job! Atmosphere wonderful, service is real bad someone should work on that.

I've visited Milagro a few times, mostly when it first opened. While the atmosphere was wonderful and the music good, the service was horrible. It took about 30 minutes to get a drink and forget about getting another! The bar is too small to handle the volume and the waiters and waitresses, while attractive, very untrained. I haven't been back because of this.

Excelent food and great service. The atmosphere was rich with Santa Fe culture. My wife and I ordered the table side guacamole ($10) and a stuffed filet ($26) and thought our dinner was worth every penny!

It would be great if the SantaFe.com restaurant section included a price range and/or star rating.
