Athlete of the Week

November 2nd, 2012
Santa Fe High School Linebacker Marcus Alarid. Marcus had a total of six tackles in the Demon victory over Bernalillo. He sacked the quarterback twice, caused one fumble and had two other tackles for a loss.

October 26th, 2012
St. Michaels running back Salomon Martinez scored 3 touchdowns in the Horseman victory over Silver High School on Friday night. He now has scored 25 touchdowns this season for the undefeated Horseman.

October 19th, 2012
Santa Fe High School quarterback Jordan Booth-Homer rushed for 4 touchdowns and also threw 2 touchdown passes in the Demon victory over Los Alamos. One of his rushing touchdowns was an 85 yard kickoff return.

October 12th, 2012
Santa Fe High School’s Christian Gonzales. Christian blocked 2 punts, had 3 Solo tackles and 3 assisted tackles and was Santa Fe High’s top defensive player. On the offensive side of the ball, Christian was credited with 53 all purpose yards in the Demon victory over Espanola Valley.

October 5th, 2012
Santo Coppola of St. Michael’s High School. He kicked a school record 56 yard field goal in the win over Capital. He leads the Horsemen in scoring this season with 3 rushing touchdowns, 3 receiving touchdowns and has hit on 31 of 38 extra point attempts so far this season. Plus he also starts at middle linebacker for the Horseman defense.

September 28th, 2012
Cory Serna the quarterback at St. Michael’s High School. He threw 6 touchdown passes in the Horseman victory over Santa Fe High. The Horseman quarterback has now passed for over 1,000 yards this season and has a total of 12 touchdown passes, while leading the undefeated Horseman to a 5 and 0 record.

September 14th, 2012
Daniel Ortega Linebacker and Running Back from St Mikes. He returned an interception for a Touchdown in the Horseman victory over Lovington.

September 8th, 2012
Andres Blea Defensive and Offensive Tackle St. Michaels High School led the Horseman defense with 11 tackles. On offense he opened holes for St. Mikes running backs and provided great pass blocking to help lead the Horseman to a win over St. Pius.

August 31st, 2012
Anthony Abeyta running back from SFHS who carried the ball 21 times for 191 yards and scored 3 touchdowns in the season opening game against the Grants Pirates.
