Event Details

Prompted by numerous wildfires and other natural disasters early this summer, Camel Rock Casino and the Pueblo of Tesuque are collaborating with internationally acclaimed recording artist Micki Free for a Natural Disaster Relief Benefit to raise funds for disaster relief in the Southwest.  Proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Red Cross for distribution.

Said Free, "I believe it's my duty to help my brothers and sisters in time of need.  I am proud to be a part of this fundraiser and hope my contribution can make a difference."

Free, a Grammy-winning and five-time Native American Music Award-winning guitarist and vocalist will be joined by drummer Curly Smith of Boston fame, and Gary Moon formerly of Night Ranger on bass, all of whom are donating their time and waiving fees for the cause.  Camel Rock Casino is underwriting the bulk of the expenses involved in the production of the show including transportation for the artists.

"Camel Rock Casino is pleased to be able to host this great benefit for the American Red Cross and we would like to thank Micki, Curly and Moon, as well as Saving Damsels, for donating their time and great talent," said Anna Skomp, Director of Marketing at Camel Rock Casino.

New Mexico's own Saving Damsels is the opening act for event on the heels of their own Native American Music Award win this year for "Best Rock Album."

Said Saving Damsels' front man JJ Otero, "As natural disasters increase year by year, the heavy responsibility lays on the community more and more to raise the capital to respond to these events.  We're honored to be a part of this effort."
