SDG is a top interior design firm located in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The interior design team of Lisa Samuel, a native of Santa Fe and owner of SDG, has been specializing in creating interiors tailored for the individual client for more than 20 years.

Our mission is to create well designed spaces that are functional as well as beautiful. Each project is approached considering its uniqueness and budget and still reflects the needs and originality of each of our clients and when completed will far exceed their expectations.

Our process includes getting to know each client personally to understand their space and goals in order to develop their unique design story. Whether focused on traditional Santa Fe interiors or contemporary interior design, we work with our clients in a flexible and respectful collaboration.

Our approach is one that is influenced by the artistry and landscape of living in Santa Fe. This has a unique influence on our approach to design. Respecting the environment in developing our designs for our clients is also important to us. These are dialogues we share with our clients.

We need your support!

About the play:

Cascarones takes place in San Antonio, Texas, as teenager Mary Margaret Caceres, who works for the transit authority giving people bus route directions, attempts to understand the mapping of her community and city. As she navigates the daily challenges her working class family faces, she encounters in a dreamlike state John Wesley Powell, Francisco Vázquez de Coronado, and the other men whose actions in the past influence her present.

A Note from the Director:

In February, we presented a staged reading of Cascarones at Teatro Paraguas. During the post-show community dialogue, an audience member remarked, “This is just the kind of theatre Santa Fe needs to bridge divides in our community.”

Cascarones is a beautiful and moving play and we have assembled a phenomenally talented cast of local actors.  DNAWORKS' mission is to present work that bring people closer together through art and dialogue, and Cascarones does just this.  Although set in Texas, the play elegantly and courageously addresses some of the very cultural, historic, and economic challenges faced in New Mexico. The plurality of Santa Fe is represented onstage in a beautiful story about the intersections of family and history. I have carried this play around with me for over ten years, and when I arrived in Santa Fe four years ago, I knew this was a perfect project to bring people closer together and catalyze dialogue about the very things that unite and, unfortunately, divide us.

Although the play had the great honor of being workshopped at the O'Neill Playwrights Conference in 2003 (with America Ferrera in the lead role), it has never had a full production.  Please join us in bringing this magnificent work to life in Santa Fe.  We are already in discussion about touring to other cities and festivals in the Southwest!

Why We Need You:

Bringing the world premiere of Cascarones to Santa Fe is absolutely essential in our eyes. Santa Fe is the right place with the right community, the right culture, and the right cast for the WORLD PREMIERE!  With this committed and passionate team, we know we can create an incredible experience for audiences and give Irma's play the production which it has patiently awaited for over a decade.

To thank you for your support we have created a number of incentives that we hope will appeal to you, even if you cannot attend the performance. But, most importantly, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all our potential backers -- every little bit counts.

Goals and Perks

We need to raise $6500 to bring Cascarones to the stage.  This includes:

    Design materials costs
Overhead for Teatro Paraguas for 5 weeks, and
A fee for each cast and crew member working on the show for the next three months.  We have over 25 people working to make this dream a reality!

In other words, everything that is needed to bring you a professional and fantastic show!  Putting a show like this together takes hundreds of hours and we are committed to paying our talented team! All funds contributed will be used directly for the production.

Who We Are:

Please click here for information on our incredible team.  Together, we have over 500 years of experience in the theatre!
