Michelle grew up in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts but has called Santa Fe home for 20 years. With a professional background in writing, marketing, and arts administration, Michelle has been involved in on-air radio for the last 6 years, and has fallen in love. She holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts, an MA from St. John's College in Santa Fe, and is currently working on a MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Texas, El Paso.
She is a poet and essayist, with one published chapbook and a book-length manuscript in the works. When not spinning fresh beats on the air, Michelle is Program Coordinator for the Art In Public Places Program for New Mexico Arts in the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs where she explores the idea that art truly can make a difference in the world and works to make it accessible to everyone in our community.
As the KBAC midday DJ during the week, Michelle digs the opportunity to play the kind of music that'll get your booty shakin' and make your day a little groovier.
