Michelle grew up in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts but has called Santa Fe home for almost 20 years. With a professional background in writing and marketing, Michelle has been involved in on-air radio for the last 6 years, and has fallen in love. She holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts, an MA from St. John's College in Santa Fe, and is currently working on a MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Texas, El Paso. She is a poet and essayist, with one published chapbook and a book-length manuscript in the works. When not spinning fresh beats on the air, Michelle is the Deputy Director of the Santa Fe Art Institute where she explores the idea that art truly can change the world and works to make it accessible to everyone in our community and beyond. As the weekend night DJ on KBAC and back-up co-host on the Friday Funk, Michelle digs the opportunity to play the kind of music that'll get your booty shakin' and make your day a little groovier.
