  • Welcome to the 2011 Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival

    Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival

Our 39th season promises to be another spectacular one, guaranteed to delight, entertain, and inspire, with music spanning the spectrum from Bach and friends to a traversal of Beethoven’s complete Piano Trios to
works of the 21st century.

Here are just a few of the reasons you won’t want to miss a single note:

    • Soprano Dawn Upshaw, our 2011 Artist-in-Residence, shines in
three programs across five nights (including an appearance in our Albuquerque series)

    • The complete Beethoven Trios, presented in all their glory over
the course of two nights by Ida Kavafian, Peter Wiley, and
Anne-Marie McDermott

    • Two sets of Four Seasons: by Vivaldi and Piazzolla

    • Five piano recitals—always among our most popular offerings

    • Marc Neikrug’s new Clarinet Quintet featuring David Shifrin

    • Festival co-commissions by Christopher Rouse,
Marc-André Dalbavie, and Sean Shepherd.

Our artist roster includes the Orion String Quartet, Soovin Kim, Cecile Licad, and Liang Wang; plus debuts by the Calder Quartet,
pianists Gilbert Kalish and Frédéric Chaslin (chief conductor of
Santa Fe Opera), baritone Matthew Worth, guitarist Claudio Ragazzi, Michael Ward-Bergeman playing accordion, and the category-shattering trio, Time for Three.

And, of course, Santa Fe’s alluring location guarantees that your
2011 Festival experience will be… Intimate. Compelling. Unforgettable.
