Just visiting Pandora’s becomes a visual and tactile experience––a moment of joy. A specialty boutique at Sanbusco Market Center, Pandora’s is an exclusive bed, bath and gift shop. Barbara Lenihan opened Pandora’s with Betsy Hackman fourteen years ago. From its humble beginning, Barbara has slowly grown the tiny shop into a Santa Fe platform for global creativity and quality. She has actively developed or supported artisan co-ops in places she travels such as Turkey, Peru, Vietnam and India. Adding a perfect mix of high end designers like Missoni, Libeco, Home Treasures, Brahms Mount and Ann Gish makes visiting Pandora’s an expedition into the global high style.
Pandora’s features high quality bedding and bath products from artistically driven communities. Barbara deals with Vietnam Co-ops that provide employment for rural women who can stay in their communities and care for their children. Barbara’s son, Aaron, formed a co-op with villagers in ‘small-town’ Peru who weave unique woolen bedspreads, pillows and throws to her specifications––blending local Peruvian taste with the preferences of Santa Fe clientele.
Pandora’s features cotton towels by Missoni, Belgian linen by Libeco, unique styles from Turkish hamams and organic towels from Japan and India. Quilts of hand-stitched habotai silk have striking colors and are luxurious to feel. Pandora’s offers a stunning array of custom-made pillows and bedding made in-house with a selection of textiles you won’t find anywhere else, from recognized designers and fair trade co-ops in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos. Egyptian cotton meets European sense and sensibility in sheets, duvets, coverlets, and shams from Italy, Belgium, Ireland and Portugal. Organic cottons and bamboo, hand-woven cotton chenille throws and French cotton rugs and kitchen linens share the Pandora’s box you have just opened. Pandora’s is located in Santa Fe’s Guadalupe Historic District at Sanbusco Market Center.
