NMSEA is a State Chapter of the American Solar Energy Society
The New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA) is an educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded in 1972, NMSEA was one of the first grass-roots organizations in the country to actively develop methods and ideas about how to use renewable energy, how small villages could live sustainably, and how to empower people through education about these issues.
NMSEA promotes clean, renewable energy and sustainability in New Mexico through education, empowerment, collaboration and advocacy.
We are currently an all-volunteer organization that accomplishes amazing things on a shoe-string budget. Our membership includes a diverse group of citizens including nationally recognized Solar Pioneers, Solar-Powered Gurus, advocates for solar & other forms of clean renewable energy, architects, building contractors, engineers, scientists, inventors, educators and students. What do we all have in common? A passion for and a dedicated commitment to renewable energy and sustainability.
NMSEA currently has active local chapters in Taos, Las Vegas, Los Alamos, Albuquerque, Alamogordo and Silver City. We are forming a new Chapter in Santa Fe.
