Second Chance Rescue and Placement
FELINES & FRIENDS NEW MEXICO was formed in mid 2002 and has since helped save the lives of over 2,500 animals who have been placed into loving new homes. Working in conjunction with the Espanola and Santa Fe Animal Shelters, as well as area vets and individual rescuers, FELINES & FRIENDS provides an alternative for special needs and difficult to place cats.
We accept cats of all ages and request a donation upon intake. However, admission to our adoption program is limited to the number of available foster homes and there are times when we simply are not able to answer every call for help.
FELINES & FRIENDS does not operate a shelter and relies solely on "foster homes" to house cats until they are placed. The group is always in need of people willing to share their home with a temporary feline. If you are interested in being a foster parent, please contact us immediately... we can never have too many.
Our adoption center is located at Petco on Cerrillos Rd where you can visit the cats. Adoption advisors are available 1pm – 4pm every Thursday through Sunday at which time you spend time getting to know a particular cat.
Teca Tu in Sanbusco Market Center also provides a home for cat waiting to be adopted. The lucky cat is usually one who does not do well at Petco and can be visited during regular store hours.
