August 18-19, 2012
This is one the biggest events of the year for Santa Fe, drawing thousands of visitors from around the world. Hundreds of Native American artists from around the country come to Santa Fe to sell their traditional jewelry, pottery, weavings, basketry and other art works.
The Plaza is packed as people take in the art as well as live entertainment, traditional dances, a clothing contest and signature Native American food including roasted corn, Navajo tacos and watermelon juice. This is the world's largest Native American art market, and it's worth visiting for the incredible array of work. This year's 91th Annual Indian Market takes place August 18-19. Indian Market also hosts a Winter Market, an annual sale held on Thanksgiving weekend with about 130 invited artists. This year's Winter Market takes place November TBA at the Santa Fe Convention Center.
