Event Description

The Genoveva Chavez Community Center is participating in the global celebration of World Tai Chi Day by inviting the community to a free event on Saturday, April 27 from noon until 3 p.m.

Tai Chi is a Chinese movement system of slow, relaxed, circular motions which aid in meditation and self-defense. Local teachers and students will gather together to share the art of Tai Chi and Qigong through demonstrations, group teaching, and discussion.

“This free event is open to anyone—if you are a beginner, a veteran practitioner, or just curious, we hope to see you here,” stated Lisa Gulotta, Recreation Section Manager at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center.

The three-hour celebration features alternating periods of teaching, demonstrations, and break-out sessions, giving participants a chance to integrate the information and to meet the instructors and those in the Tai Chi and Qigong community.
