Event Description

This year, the 25th annual Traditional Winter Spanish Market has moved from Santa Fe to Albuquerque and will be held at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town.

The works of approximately 100  Hispanic Artists will be on display and for purchase.  Artists, performers and visitors alike will gather to express their pride in the Hispanic heritage of the state, and along with food and music, the spectacular artwork will be exhibited.  Among the art forms which are made according to traditional Spanish Colonial techniques and designs, are bultos, retablos, textiles, colcha, furniture, tin, straw appliqué micaceous clay pottery and precious metals.

Traditional Winter Spanish Market is a program of the Spanish Colonial Arts Society and features the artists of the oldest and largest Spanish market in the U.S. that is held each summer on and around the Santa Fe Plaza.

The two annual Traditional Spanish Markets are programs of the Spanish Colonial Arts Society, the only organization in the country with a mission to collect, preserve, exhibit, and educate the Spanish Colonial Arts of New Mexico and beyond.
