Event Description

A new documentary, “Stories from the Classroom: New Mexico's Journey with the Reggio Emilia Approach” premieres at the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe on Thursday, May 22 at 5 p.m.

The video features New Mexico teachers and educators exploring the Reggio Emilio approach in their Early Childhood Educational practices. The directors of the video used Reggio principals to guide the video. The film includes a brief history of Reggio Emilio, Italy, city run preschools and also New Mexico’s journey with schools and educators growing their interest and inspiration using this approach to education.

The CCA screening will help promote the upcoming traveling exhibit ‘The Wonder of Learning: The Hundred Languages of Children’, which documents the Reggio Emilio Approach in early childhood education. The exhibit opens June 19 and is on view through Nov. 30 at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. St. Joseph Community Health is the premiere sponsor for the event.
