Starting Here, Starting Now premieres on Friday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Weckesser Studio Theatre. The production is a bold journey through the maze of modern romantic relationships, with songs that tell an impeccably crafted, original, engaging story. Performances continue Aug. 24, 30 and 31 at 7 p.m., and Aug. 25 and Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 through Tickets Santa Fe at the Lensic.
Dallett Norris directed the Young American Artists Program for Cincinnati Opera for three seasons, also staging The Student Prince and The Mikado for the company’s main seasons. During this time he received two grants from The National Opera Institute. He taught and directed the opera workshop for Carnegie Mellon University, going on to direct the Most Happy Fella for Edmonton Opera in Canada and The Tales of Hoffman for Providence Opera Theatre. From then on he went full time into musical theatre, producing and directing the international tour of Gigi staring Louis Jordan, the Japanese and American productions of Can Can staring Chita Rivera and the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes.
