This free, family-friendly event will take place at the Santa Fe Railyard from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Festivities include:
Everyone is encouraged to bring a canned food item, which can be dropped off on the train or at the Santa's Village event. Canned food items will be donated to The Food Depot in Santa Fe, which provides food to 135 non-profit food programs in Northern New Mexico. Donating a canned food item will enter you in to a drawing for New Mexico Rail Runner Express train tickets.
Additionally, there are two train rides with Santa scheduled:
Ride the Train with Santa in the Morning
Santa will ride the #702 northbound train from the Downtown Albuquerque station to the Santa Fe Depot. This train departs Belen at 8:28 a.m. and arrives at the Santa Fe Depot at 10:34 a.m. People can board at any station in the morning to ride with Santa. During the ride, Santa will visit with children and families in all of the train cars. Passengers will also enjoy holiday stories read aloud by literacy volunteers. Don't forget to bring your camera to take pictures with Santa on the train!
Ride the Train with Santa in the Afternoon
After visiting with children in Santa Fe, Santa will ride the #705 southbound train departing the Santa Fe Depot at 3:28 p.m., and will exit the train at the Downtown Albuquerque station. During the ride he will visit with children and families in all of the train cars.
