Event Description

Santa Fe Studio Tour 2013 is a free, self-guided tour open to the public that meanders throughout Santa Fe featuring 37 open studios and work of over 59 Santa Fe artists. Studios open Friday evening, June 28 from 5:30-7:30pm; Saturday, June 29 from 12 noon through 5pm; and Sunday, June 30 from 12 noon through 5pm.

Studios on the tour include those of painters, potters, woodworkers, fiber artists, paper makers, metal workers, jewelers and more. Tour visitors have the opportunity to discover and tour open studios, meet the artists, learn about their processes and inspiration, as well as purchase artwork directly from the artist.

WHY ATTEND SANTA FE STUDIO TOUR? Jim Luttjohann, Executive Director of the Santa Fe Convention & Visitors Bureau, answers this question: “Santa Fe’s creative community make up such a rich part of the city’s fabric, that no visit would be complete without meeting some of our local artists. Fortunately many of our resident artists open their studios every summer to visitors seeking an opportunity to do just that while also getting to enjoy some of the more off-the-beaten-path parts of town. Seeing artists’ work environments offers a much deeper immersion in art, and is the kind of experience that will offer visitors wonderful memories and great stories to tell once they return home”.

Santa Fe Studio Tour provides the visitor with a dynamic yet intimate experience in a city which itself is known as the City Different and is one of the largest art marketplaces in the country, hosting over 250 art galleries, more than 300 restaurants, 70 jewelry shops, and 13 museums.

Artwork for home, office and garden as well as unique jewelry and wearable art will be available with beginning Friday evening, June 28 at 5:30 PM in each studio. Several studios will feature guest artists in shared space. Artist names, media, contact information and tour location are clearly mapped in Santa Fe Studio Tour literature.
