Santa Fe Public Schools Spelling Bee



Event Description

The 2014 Santa Fe County Spelling Bee will take place Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the Jemez Rooms at Santa Fe Community College. The Bee will begin at 8:30am. The event is sponsored by Santa Fe Public Schools.

Forty spellers from 20 public, private and charter schools from throughout the County will be participating. The first and second place winners will advance to the New Mexico Spelling Bee. The State Bee is sponsored by the Alburqurque Journal and Newspapers in Education and will take place on March 22, 2014. The winner of the New Mexico Spelling Bee will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., May 25-31. Expenses to the National Bee for the winner and a parent are paid by the Albuquerque Journal and Newspapers in Education.

Last year Santa Fe County had two students place at the New Mexico Spelling Bee, second place was Anish Kumar from Wood Gormley Elementary and third place Ben Voter from Desert Academy.
