The Pecos League is an independent professional baseball league which operates in cities in desert mountain regions throughout New Mexico, West Texas and Southern Colorado. Pecos Teams play in cities that do not have Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either. The Pecos League is where the Land of Enchantment meets the Lone Star State. The league's high power offenses are fueled by high altitudes and smaller ballparks. The Pecos League is home to high altitude baseball where our average elevation is 4870. The Pecos League was formed in August 2010 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Our players come from all over the US and all over the world and are a combination of rising stars, falling stars, shooting stars and athletes with stars in their eyes. Our communities take tremendous pride in their teams. The Pecos League has promoted 147 players to higher independent and affiliated teams from 2010-2013.
The Pecos League operates in towns of populations under 70,000. Two of the cities in the Pecos League Raton, New Mexico and Alpine, Texas have populations under 7,000. The Pecos League Regular Season is nestled in the middle of the summer from May 15-July 27. This timing leads for increased fan participation and support. The Pecos League shortened the season by three weeks to allow players a better chance of getting promoted and not to conflict with high school football which is huge in the area. The Pecos League continues to get the majority of its support from city governments, corporate sponsors and host families and the players. The Pecos League looks to have three divisions of four teams in the 2015 season. By the 2015 season the Pecos League will be the prime starting point for Professional Baseball Players who are attempting to get signed by Affiliated Minor League Teams as Free Agents. By 2015 the existing teams will continue to establish their Summer Baseball Tradition.
Teams/Cities The Pecos League will have the following teams for 2013 season: (Alpine Cowboys, Las Vegas Train Robbers, Raton Osos, Roswell Invaders, Santa Fe Fuego, Taos Blizzard, Trinidad Triggers, and White Sands Pupfish). In 2012 The Pecos League operated 6 teams with the Alpine Texas Cowboys winning both the regular season and post season title. In 2011 The Pecos League operated 6 teams with the Roswell New Mexico Invaders winning both the regular season and post season title.
