Event Description

The Sangre de Cristo Chorale will end its 34th season with a performance in English of Eines Deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms. Sung in English translation with piano accompaniement, the Requiem is considered one of the choral masterpieces of all times and the basis of a transformative experience in Conductor Doyle Preheim's life. The Chorale's performance with piano accompaniment rather than full orchestra will have soloists Cecelia Leitner, soprano, and Loren Jacobsen, bass, both residents of the Santa Fe area. This is also the final concert for Dr. Preheim and Mary Jo, because they are retiring after eight wonderful music-making seasons with the Chorale.

The Chorale was formed in 1978 as a self-governing group of adult volunteer singers who share the camaraderie and satisfaction of learning as well as performing a variety of fine choral music in Northern New Mexico.
