For twenty years Ustad Roshan Bhartiya could be heard on the TV, radio and many of India's most beloved and classic featured films. Roshan has spent many years touring the world promoting the classical music of India. With his father and guru, Jamuluddin Bhartiya, Roshan founded schools both in India and Amsterdam. For years, their school in Amsterdam was the largest presenter of Indian music in Europe. Roshan played a significant role in the success of this school. Roshan has been teaching the culturally rich art of Indian Classical Music to private students around the world and at universities in the U.S. His contribution in maintaining and expanding the presence of Indian Classical music in India and abroad has been great. He is one of the great sitar players of his generation. His performances are marked with emotional presence and generosity of spirit. His performance is a treat for the educated listener as well as the novice.
