Event Description

Outdoor Vision Fest (OVF) is a free, annual public event featuring environmental projections and outdoor art installations of design, animation, full motion video, video mapping, motion graphics and interactive multimedia created by students and faculty at Santa Fe University of Art and Design. A self-guided experience, OVF presents a unique opportunity for visitors to see large–scale art installations of design, animation, photography and other motion imagery projected on the walls of Ricardo Legorreta’s world-famous Visual Arts Center, the Fogelson Library, and Garson Theatre.

“Aside from the thrill of lighting up the Santa Fe night sky in a way that’s never been seen before” said Terry Borst, Professor of Moving Image Arts, “I find it most exciting to see both faculty and students reach for the stars in stretching their creative muscles and inviting us to see and hear in new and unique ways.”

This year’s Outdoor Vision Fest features several new and exciting components:

•A groundbreaking video mapping installation from faculty and students at Istanbul Bilgi University (part of the Laureate network), The effort is led by Professor Refik Anadol (see http://vimeo.com/29458889 for a sample of his work).

•A greater number of overall installations and the installations feature even more audience interactivity.

•An evening event at Santa Fe Complex on April 25, 2012 where students will share their creative process and installation work with New Mexico high-tech professionals

•Outdoor Vision Fest content will be further shared in the coming weeks after the event --at the Public Enemy concert on-campus April 28, and in the opening and closing nights of Currents 2012, a world-class new media exhibition happening in Santa Fe during Summer 2012
