Monotype is a fun and immediate process that combines painting and printmaking techniques. This workshop will be an in-depth exploration of color printing with water-based Akua-Kolor monotype inks. Students will learn to separate and layer color using brayers, brushes, stencils, textures, chine colle and more to create rich, textured monotypes! Chine colle is a beautiful process whereby a print is made onto a thin piece of Asian paper while simultaneously adhering it to a thicker sheet of Western paper. This class is open to all, but it is recommended that students take the “Introduction to Monotype” class first.
