Choreographer and performer Meshi Chavez and composer-performer Lisa DeGrace present "...or be dragged," an intricate performance exploring the act of making choices. The performance calls viewers to reflect on the ways we process and live with our choices and what it means for reaching freedom – or despair. Meshi Chavez works as a performer and choreographer in Portland, Oregon and has trained with internationally recognized artists such as Butoh masters Akira Kasai, Denise Fujiwara, Atsushi Takenouchi, and Diego Pinon. He has also worked with a variety of Portland based dance companies including, Theory 1:Dance, and Aviator. Lisa DeGrace is a composer and performance artist based in Portland, Oregon. She has trained with master clown Sue Morrison, and has a degree in music composition from Hampshire College.
