    “What it takes to make it” is a personal account of a man who has made it to the top in the entertainment business, multiple times. The lecture is free and open to the public.

    Who: Mr. Markinson is a Tony-award winning producer and theatre owner. He also managed and operated the Wadsworth and Brentwood Theatres in Los Angeles and the Parker Playhouse in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. Markinson grew up in Brooklyn, New York, first finding his success in insurance and then turning to the theater. His many Broadway productions include Torch Song Trilogy, for which he received a Tony in 1983, The Gathering, George Gershwin Alone, Getting and Spending, Corpse, And a Nightingale Sang, Passion, among others. In motion pictures, Mr. Markinson’s productions include Seduced by Evil, Snitch and Getting and Spending (in progress). Mr. Markinson and his wife Arlena reside in New York and Santa Fe.
