Hillside is proud to present the artistic works of Miguel Chavez and Marny Daniels as part of our ongoing series, Last Friday on the Hillside. Come join us on Friday, 11/29/13 from 5 to 7 pm as we celebrate with food, music, and lively discussion.
Miguel is a master craftsman and furniture maker. He makes New Mexico style chairs, chests, cabinets, doors, tables, and trasteros using old Spanish Colonial styles as models. The carved detailing is also done by hand. Chavez embellishes his pieces with carved rosettes, pomegranates, and scallops. All hardware on the furniture is locally made and had wrought.
Marny Daniels is a crafter and entrepreneur that dabbles in pretty much every art and craft, but her passion is mixed media and fiber arts. Her crafty treasures include whimsical hand sewn fabric dolls, upcycled vintage jewelry and handbags, hand knit fluffy monsters, and other unique mixed-media creations. These beautiful one of a kind gifts are made and adorned using everything from rescued prom dresses, to recycled plastic bags and vintage costume jewelry.
