The National Latino Behavioral Health Association is proud to sponsor a benefit music event featuring Santa Fe’s legendary performer and musician Jerry Lopez on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at The Lensic Performing Arts Center. This community concert will raise funds for the Josie T. Romero Scholarship Fund, which provides college scholarships to New Mexico students seeking a degree in the field of behavioral health. This music concert will showcase songs from Jerry’s most recent CD entitled “Mis Raíces” with songs largely written by his father, Gilbert Lopez, Sr., and special songs in tribute to the City of Santa Fe to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month. Santa Fe welcomes home this legendary and acclaimed musician born in Santa Fe, who gained local popularity with the Lopez Brothers and Los Hermanos Lopez performing throughout the city and at the Santa Fe Fiestas. Jerry went on to perform with international artists Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan, and was also the music director for Sparx. He currently plays with the band, “Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns,” in Las Vegas, Nevada. For more on Jerry, go to http://jerrylopez.com/
