Memphis born, Jim first studied guitar(classical) under Hector Garcia (voted one of the top ten classicalguitar teachers in the world by 'Guitar Magazine'), started playing music professionally via jazz (singing&guitar), moved to R&B, then to bass guitar and C&W/original/etc., and then to Santa Fe, NM.(where I could paid for playing my own songs). The whole time (30+ years) I was writing and bringing my music into the various musical bus stops. Currently I have eight CD's released (currently working on three others). Have played with or opened for a number of internationally known artist (don't feel like dropping names at the moment). Traveled all over the US and a fair amount of Europe performing. Am presently playing out in the northern NM area either as a solo, duo, trio, sixpiece band set up, with the emphasis being on the original music.
