Antonio Granjero & Entreflamenco, New Flamenco Company for the Summer Season at Maria Benitez Cabaret.
The National Institute of Flamenco, together with El Farol on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, is proud to present 2014's Flamenco at El Farol, which runs July 10th through August 24th, Thursday through Tuesday at 7pm.
World-renowned Spanish Flamenco dancer Antonio Granjero will return to Santa Fe after three successful fall seasons now for the summer performance season, along with his company, Entreflamenco. Appearing nightly from July 2 to August 31, the 8:00 p.m. shows will be featured in the legendary Maria Benitez Cabaret located in the Lodge at Santa Fe, a theater built specifically for intimate flamenco performances.
This intimate dinner show features the stunning work of accomplished flamenco artists, Marisol and Joaquin Encinias; singer Vicente Griego, guitarist Calvin Hazen, and members of Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company, directed by Joaquin Encinias.
This year, Flamenco at El Farol presents new choreography created especially for Yjastros by some of Spain’s most incredible artists, each who spent an average of 4 weeks working with the company.
Sonia Olla, Jose Galván, Concha Jareño, and Nino de los Reyes have all contributed work to this summer’s flamenco dinner show at El Farol, where you can experience all of their distinct styles as Yjastros works with the bata de cola in Jareño’s Cantiñas, the lightning fast footwork and jazzy rhythms of Nino de los Reyes, the dramatic and commanding force of Sonia Olla, and the playful traditions of flamenco maestro, Jose Galván.
The cuisine at El Farol only enhances the riveting experience of flamenco. Enjoy a rich seafood paella or choose from a wealth of tapas, paired with deep red and crisp white wines, as well as sherries, ports, and house made sangria.
