Event Description

Santa Fe Bandstand is a free summer music festival on the Santa Fe Plaza, produced by Outside In Productions and a crew that strives to present the city with a wide range of performers, who represent the diversity and wealth of musical talent in this region. Performances take place Monday to Thursday, through August 16, 2012. All shows are free and open to the public. During evening performances, the first act begins around 6 p.m., the headlining act performs at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Doug Lawrence is a jazz tenor saxophonist from Lake Charles, Louisiana. He currently resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lawrence spent over 20 years in New York City, during which time he worked with such artists as Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Roy Eldridge, and many others. He has also been a featured performer at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and the Village Vanguard. Lawrence is currently the featured tenor soloist with the Count Basie Orchestra, (a chair once held by such musicians as Lester Young and Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis). Doug also works with the legendary drummer Jimmy Cobb

Busy McCarroll is one of Santa Fe's most esteemed musicians. Backed by her top notch band 'The Ambassadors of Pleasure' - Kevin Zoernig, Baird Banner & Justin Bransford. They'll be playing their own unique style they like to call PowerJazzPop. It's kooky, smooth, funked out with a Sci-Fi cinematic vibe. If you're looking for a fun night filled with trippy music & tremolo guitar sounds, Catch these guys!
