Composer/Songwriter Donald Rubinstein, in his first Santa Fe concert in almost 18 months, will perform on piano, guitar and voice. Rubinstein's performances are rooted in lyric oriented folk-rock songs with improvisations extending into the modern jazz and classical idioms. His score for the George Romero cult classic film Martin, was voted “One of the top 100 soundtracks of all time” by Mojo Magazine (2002).
Working in a variety of mediums, he has collaborated with a wide array of artists including Bill Frisell, Ed Harris, Terry Allen, Kiki Smith and The Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, amongst others. Also a visual artist, his work has been exhibited in The Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, as well as in gallery exhibits across the country.
