Join the Santa Fe School of Cooking and the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum to discover and explore some of Georgia O’Keeffe’s ideas about food and cooking. One of our chefs will guide you through some of the recipes featured in the book A Painter’s Kitchen: Recipes from the Kitchen of Georgia O’Keeffe, by Margaret Wood. O’Keeffe’s attitudes toward food were rare for her time; she preferred simple foods eaten in season, and grown and handled with care. Margaret Wood, O’Keeffe’s assistant for many years, will be on hand to share personal stories and insights into the artist’s life and her perspectives on food and, of course, art. This class will weave the recipes into their historical context to re-create the texture of O’Keeffe. The three-hour-long, demonstration-style class includes recipes and a full meal.
