Event Description

In keeping with its mission to present “unjustly neglected masterpieces” to New Mexico audiences, Canticum Novum will perform a program of choral and orchestral music by Bach, Mozart, Corselli, and Giazotto.  Rounding out the program will be Haydn’s magnificent St. Nicholas Mass.

Both performances will be in Santa Fe at a new and acoustically wonderful venue:  the chapel at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Retreat and Conference Center (the old Carmelite monastery) near the corner of Old Santa Fe Trail and Camino Monte Sol.

PROGRAM

J. S. Bach:  Keyboard Concerto in E Major, BWV 1053
       Peter Vinograde, piano soloist
Remo Giazotto:  Adagio (formerly attributed to Tomaso Albinoni)
Francesco Corselli:  Dixit Dominus for double choir & orchestra
W. A. Mozart:  Church Sonata in C, K. 278
F. J. Haydn:  St. Nicholas Mass
