Participants will learn the most important aspects of a feasible yet comprehensive communications and social media plan, from defining a purpose and developing a clear pitch to increasing participation on Facebook and other social media sites. They will work on developing a plan at the workshop with both the trainer's and facilitator's help and will leave the workshop prepared to implement the plan back at their home organization the very next day.
About Trainer Rubina Cohen: Founder and CEO of Firefly Innovation Group, Rubina earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Media Studies from the Institute of Communications Research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Having worked and volunteered with a variety of non-profits and small businesses for nearly 12 years, Rubina learned hands on about the unique needs and problems they face. Her experience includes marketing, public relations & outreach, social media, networking, face-to-face grassroots communications work, and influencing policy at the local level.
About Facilitator Jessica Haynie: Jessica is the Principal Consultant at Three Stones Consulting, LLC, focusing on fundraising and philanthropy strategy. Jessica advises both nonprofits and social enterprises on fundraising issues. She earned her MBA from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, where her studies focused on social entrepreneurship and nonprofit management.
