Event Description

Chris Jamison was born in Texas, raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and finished high school in London. It was nearly ten years ago in London, at the age of 17, that he first began writing and performing his own songs. Since then Jamison has earned a degree in political science from the University of Virginia, toured and traveled across the globe, and has independently released three records (mastering the first two at Abbey Road Studios). Recording for the third record, “Cradle to Cradle” was split between Marfa and Austin, TX and was released this spring. It is in rotation at the Austin NPR affiliate KUT, KOOP, and other great independent stations. Since settling into the hill country hamlet of Wimberley, TX two years ago Jamison has been living and working on an organic farm&ranch; staying very busy maintaining a touring schedule that has seen him play hundreds of shows across Texas, including the Kerrville Folk Festival. No Depression Magazine called Chris Jamison’s melodies “both sing-a-long immediate and earworm lasting..” and with a voice reminiscent of Paul Simon its clear that this is a special young talent. He has obviously studied his heroes, the likes of Jackson Browne, Townes Van Zandt, and Leonard Cohen, but what he is with this song and voice is something fully his own. Chris Jamison is a traveler and a storyteller, a writer of songs that catch both the ear and the heart. He is a performer with the aim of weaving the audience into the tapestry of the tale he is living, and not long from now he is back on the road... Listen to Jamison’s full discography at and
