Workshop

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Basketry artist and knowledge-holder Royce Manuel (Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community) will lead a full-day workshop on Saturday entitled "Binding Our Future to the Past: Agave Workshop.” Mr. Manuel has worked to bring the Kiaha (traditional burden basket) back to life for the Aw-Thum and shared his knowledge teaching community workshops.

Demonstration
Sunday, August 5
Noon to 4:30 p.m.
Royce Manuel will demonstrate his basket making techniques in the Woven Identities exhibition gallery.
Free with admission.


What: Basketry Programming at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture.
When: June 23 and 24, July 7 and 8, and August 4 and 5 (Saturdays are workshops, Sundays are demonstrations / presentations).
Where: Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, on Museum Hill, Camino Lejo off Old Santa Fe Trail.
Workshops: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the MIAC classroom. One hour lunch break. Lunch is not provided, please plan to bring your own lunch or purchase one from Museum Hill Café.
Cost: $25 per person or $15 for youth and students (ages 10 and over). Sunday events are FREE with museum admission and to New Mexico residents with ID, and under 17.
