Event Description

Presentation - Wilson will present a gallery talk on her show Beneath the Surface sharing how science and synesthesia are central to her process of layers, images, poetry, sounds and music. When she hears music she sees colors, and numbers have sounds like musical notes. She'll share some of the unusual materials that find their way into her work.

Wilson works in layers, beginning with a poem, word or inspiration that is written on the canvas prior to painting. This is rarely seen in the finished painting, but it informs and inspires the process. Sometimes it may be a mathematical formula or a musical score. These inspire and focus Wilson's process of layering to the finished painting.

Join us for both the Presentation on July 20th and Wilson's Opening Reception on the 26th.
