    Event Description

Selected Art Works by Antonio Madera will be exhibited in the Ray Drew Gallery from January 17-February 17, 2012. The gallery will have an artist's reception on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 pm. The Ray Drew Gallery is located on the first floor of donnelly Library and is open from 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday and 1:00 pm-5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Antonio Madera, a self taught artist, divides his time between Belize and New Mexico. Much of his art is based on mythology from Greek, Teutonic, and Asian traditions, as well as Biblical and contemporary themes. "Zuibitsu" is a Japanese word that roughly translates to "follow the brush". As Mr. Madera paints these mythological works, the brush becomes the creative force which guides his creativity.
