Listening Horse Therapeutic Riding and its Equine Services for Heroes program will be hosting an AERC (American Endurance Ride Conference) sanctioned endurance ride on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Riders can pick the distance they want to complete – 50 mile endurance, 30 mile limited distance or a 7.7 fun ride for first timers. Haul in on Friday, ride Saturday, and haul home on Sunday. There will be plenty of water for horses and well-marked trails with good footing. Riders will enjoy scenic vistas of the Rio Grande Valley, Los Alamos and the Pajarito Plateau.
Details and registration are available at www.ridecaja2013.weebly.com or by calling 505-670-3577. Dinner will be provided to all riders on Saturday evening and awards will be shared with everyone. Those interested in volunteering are also welcome to contact Listening Horse and join in a weekend of good fun.
Listening Horse Therapeutic Riding and its Equine Services for Heroes program is a non-profit organization that provides therapy with horses at no cost to riders. They are a member center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) and serve military, veterans, at-risk youth, and anyone facing emotional, physical or neurological challenges. All proceeds from the ride will go to Listening Horse Therapeutic Riding which operates in Santa Fe and relies completely on donations and fundraisers for support.
