With a sexy and soulful voice, singer/songwriter/ musician AARON HAMRE plays a unique kind of bluesy acoustic dance-rock that is heavy on rhythm and light on the ears. His songs make you dance and they stick in your head. The nimble fingered guitarist (Austin Chronicle top10) was recognized for his music by the Legislature of his home state of New Mexico in 2005. After the release of his first studio album at 18, Aaron was taken under the wing of legendary producer Nik Venet (Beach Boys, Frank Zappa, Sam Cooke) who taught him about recording. "He showed me a lot. He said-'Don't be like a moth to the candle like everybody else. Be a moth to the moon.' Guitar is Aaron's favorite instrument, introduced to it by a family friend Billy Etheridge (early ZZ Top, Marc Benno and the Nightcrawlers) who had helped young Stevie Ray Vaughn learn to play. At the helm of many bands over the years in New Mexico, California and Texas, Aaron has opened for such music luminaries as No Doubt, Sheryl Crow, Buffy Sainte Marie, Joanne Shenondoah, Dash Rip Rock, The Hooters, and others. While playing for two years in Los Angeles, Aaron was gifted a handmade guitar by a fan (30 Seconds To Mars' Tomo Millicevic) and invited to sing at the Ford Ampitheater during the Red Nation Celebration. He was then brought out to Austin to play guitar on a project with Steve Miller co-writer Chris Mc Carty and stayed for a few years -"Austin is beautiful." Aaron is a lifelong student of the healing arts and became a licensed Natural Therapeutic Specialist and Core Synchronism Practitioner in 2007. "I believe in the healing power of music. Of all kinds of magic, music is King."
