A Taste of South Africa, with tea specialist William Zunkel, chef Fernando Olea and storyteller Regina Ress
African Tea Purveyor and former resident of South Africa William Zunkel teams up with Chef Fernando Olea to bring a sample of the lively cuisine and unique teas of South and East Africa. Bill, who lived for many years in South Africa, has been supplying the Hillside Cafe with his Tea Chileño and other delicious teas he imports from Africa and he has treated us with his fabulous curries at our member pot lucks.
Together, Bill and Chef Fernando will prepare a sample of South African chicken curry with its delicious accompaniments and Bill will tell us stories about the recipes and tea plantations. To round off the event, storyteller Regina Ress will take us to Africa via the magic of story. Go home with a tea sample and a whole new view of South Africa.
