The thrill of creating watercolor journals lies in the simplicity of the entire process. A watercolor travel palette, pen, pencil, water container, journal book with watercolor paper pages and personal items like a stool and sunscreen allow you to begin work at locations during a trip or a visit to old stomping grounds. The purpose is to take home visual recollections of the many things you find intriguing and would not otherwise have the time to create a polished painting. The key is to have fun! Don Getz, AWS, founded the Ohio Watercolor Society, served 15 years as a contributing editor for "The Artist's Magazine", served as national director for the American Watercolor Society and Knickerbocker Artist-USA, and had a 30 year retrospective exhibit at the Butler Institute of American Art. He has won numerous awards and medals for his work. His books and videos are widely available, as well as numerous limited edition watercolor journals.
