A James Beard finalist for Best Chef Midwest 2014, Chef Kevin Nashan has been wowing guests at his Sydney Street Cafe in St. Louis for more then a decade with his Spanish and New Mexican influenced cuisine. A native of Santa Fe, Nashan returns home and showcases techniques of three of his signature dishes with tastes paired with Spanish wines from Numanthia.

Wine Seminar: Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon AVA Masterclass (WS3)

Four of Napa’s top producers will each pour a 2009 Cabernet from their unique American Viticultural Area (AVA)­—René Schlatter from Merryvale (St. Helena), Aaron Crespin from Pine Ridge (Stag's Leap), Jerry Baker from Ladera (Mt. Veeder) and Daniel Vu from Heitz Wine Cellars (Rutherford). Learn the unique characteristics from each of these Napa AVAs. A second flight (poured blind) will feature a 2007 Cabernet from each producer's AVA and guest's can use their new found knowledge to pick out which wine is from which AVA.

This demo/class will celebrate the new edition of Smoke & Spice with its 50 additional recipes, and tastes will be paired with chilled Rosé wines from Chateau D'Esclans.

Chef Kim Mueller and Floating World owner & Certified Sake Sommelier Deborah Fleig will offer a cooking demo and sake tasting, sampling a few signature dishes with sake pairings from izanami, the new Japanese-inspired izakaya at Ten Thousand Waves. Opened in November 2013, izanami has already been featured in several local and national publications and was a semi-finalist for the 2014 James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant.

Wine Seminar: Three Faces of Tempranillo (WS5)
