Before you head out to tie one on this New Year's Eve weekend, save two numbers in your phone: 1-800-222-4357 and (505) 995-9528.
Partygoers and bar hoppers have two helpful options when it comes to finding a safe ride home this New Year's Eve. AAA New Mexico will provide statewide Tipsy Tow services for members and nonmembers alike. Imbibed drivers can call and ask for Tipsy Tow at 1-800-222-4357. The service begins Friday evening on Dec. 30 and wraps up at 6 a.m. on Sunday, January 1. The service will transport you up to seven miles from the point of pickup, according to the AAA New Mexico website.
Santa Fe County's Chauffer and Designated Driver program is also available this Friday and Saturday night. The service is available every Friday and Saturday night and for a discounted fee, a driver will take you from a residence to any location or from any location to a residence within Santa Fe City limits. It runs from 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. and costs $5 for 1 or 2 people, $10 for 3 or more. The cab will go outside of city limits, however the rider is responsible for the extra miles outside of city limits, according to a Santa Fe County news release.
