'Pansies provide a riot of color'

I'm hungry for color this time of year and planting pansies is just the ticket. You won't have to worry about cold weather, or even snow, killing them off. I've seen them survive just fine even after having been buried in several inches of snow. If you can give them some shade, they'll even survive the heat of summer… but they won't want direct sun for long periods. Here's what I've done… and happy planting:
