Liz Simon is a photographer, writer and cyclist who likes to combine the three in her quest to discover the nooks and crannies of New Mexico. Sometimes, means of transportation other than bicycle are employed---including the Rail Runner and motorcycle.

Today I decided to get on the bike and watch The Spanish Market take shape on The Plaza as the artists put up their tents, and arranged their work in anticipation of tomorrow's opening day. It was a bit like watching a movie set take shape, something that I have written about in previous blogs.
The shops in and around The Plaza were doing good business, but one in particular seemed to be having a lot of traffic. So I rode over to see what was what. It turned out to be "The Shop/A Christmas Store" on East Palace. Yes, they are indeed VERY READY for the holidays, NOW, in July!. Wow. What a great display of color, light, interesting decor and art. The work of many local artists is featured in The Shop. I was glad to see that. I never tire of Christmas colors and lights, so I asked the proprietor if I could take some photos for the blog. She was delighted. So. Merry Christmas Everyone! Here are photos from my visit to "The Shop".

If you can't find the color of lights you're looking for in this shop, then
it doesn't exist.

Novelty lights…obviously an African theme.

Beautiful imported glass ornaments.

Here's an image from my childhood.

Yes, believe it or not, there IS an Elvis Christmas ornament!!!

Happy Trails to you.
