It’s that time of year again, when two of my favorite passions collide – great food and great art – in Santa Fe’s annual Art Feast.  The extraordinary smorgasbord of food and art events scheduled for this year’s 15th annual feast happens the weekend of Friday, February 24 through Sunday, February 26.

All of the events are presented by ARTsmart, founded in 1993 to address the lack of funding for art programs and supplies in Santa Fe public schools.  Artsmart’s own mission states the case better than I might be able to: “In a city built on and sustained by the arts, ARTsmart is committed to funding the creative thinkers of tomorrow.”

Here at SantaFe.com, there are several people who share with me these dual passions of art and food, not the least of which is our Gourmet Girl, Lynn Cline. So, we have decided to play “tag team” and cover Art Feast in multiple blogs and articles over the next two weeks. We will cover all of the events of this annual mid-winter bash. Talk about a reason to get out of the house in the end of February? This is it.

    Ahead on our smorgasbord menu:

The Edible Art Tour – Friday gallery crawl and movable feast
Feast or Famine – An after-hours party at The Ore House at Milagro
Art of Home Tour – A tour of eight dream dwellings on Saturday and Sunday afternoons
Gourmet Dinner & Auction – Honoring artist Poteet Victory at Encantado Resort
Artists’ Champagne Brunch & Auction – Visit with artists and enjoy food from peas ‘n’ Pod Catering

    See you at Art Feast!
