The following is copied from Teatro Paragus' announcement about upcoming performances.  This play flowed with the depth and profound messages of an epic poem.  Do bring tissues.  Do plan to go with someone afterwards just to process a little.  The writing and the performances are masterpieces. When New Mexicans tell their stories. chills run through the heart.  If you don't see another play this year, go to this one.

Teatro Paraguas presents Manhattan Glass by Santa Fe playwright Joey Chavez based on the true story of Mary and Louis Hesch (Chavez’s grandparents)
starring Juanita Sena-Shannon and Oscar Rodriguez and
directed by Fran Martone.

In the fall of 1943 Louis and Maria answered the call of their government to move to Los Alamos and work on the top secret
"Manhattan Project." Forty years later, Louis can't remember where he put his shoes, but he has to talk about their involvement with the Bomb, which Mary has tried so hard to forget. Why is he calling the president and what is on that sign he put in their front yard? Well... in walks Anthony, their grandson who's been away at college and he has no idea what's been going on.
