Topic: No Regrets

There’s certainly no shortage of online content on the topic of parenting, in fact, if you Google “parenting” and “blog” you’ll get over 51 million results. For that reason, I’m not going to write about parenting. Instead, I’ll write about the complicated nature of trying to live an adult, socially active lifestyle while also being a parent.
We live in an amazing city. An NEA census study done a few years ago shows that Santa Fe has the most working writers, artists, and architects per capita of any city in the country. In addition, we have the second (or third depending on where you read it) largest art market in the United States – NOT per capita, but straight up dollars spent on art. The local music scene is unusually good for a city our size, and because we live in a tourist city, the restaurants (both fancy and dive-y) are diverse and delicious. I moved here almost 20 years ago to live and experience all this city has to offer, and simply because I have grown-up and had children, I shouldn’t have to stop.
Whether writing about a trail run, a concert, a poetry reading, or a glass of beer, I hope to give you some insight into the diversity of happenings and delights our city serves up, as well as the thorny nature of enjoying them with (or without) kids.
