    Cheryl “Charlie” Romney-Brown received her M.A. in Liberal Arts from Georgetown University, her B.A. from the University of California in Berkeley.  In addition, she has done work on a doctorate.  From 1991 through 1998, she taught Women’s Literature at Georgetown University.  Her book of poetry, Circling Home, was published in September, 1989 by Scripta Humanistica. While living in Washington DC, she founded Defining Destiny, a Woman's Literary Forum, where she spotlighted leading women thinkers such as Hillary Clinton, Betty Friedan and Elizabeth Drew. She also arranged literary programs and interviewed writers on stage for the Smithsonian Associates Program, as well as on radio and TV and has written for the WashingtonInternational Magazine.  Ms. Romney-Brown has given literary readings and spoken on women’s issues on both the West and East Coasts, and on radio and television, including National Public Radio's show "The Poet and the Poem. She has received several fellowships from The Virginia Center of the Creative Arts.  In addition, Ms. Romney-Brown was a member of President William Clinton's Committee on Women’s issues, At the Table”, The International Women’s Health Forum and a member of The National Council on Brain Injury.  She was a member of Leadership America. a founding member of The Folger Shakespeare Library Poetry Board and The Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C. The International Museum of Women in San Francisco has awarded her an Inspiring Woman Certificate.

    Mrs. Romney-Brown now makes her home in Santa Fe where she has founded Women’s Voices and has written a historical novel, The Secret Covenants, a Mexican Mormon Pilgrimage. She is a commentator on the political program: The Forum on KSFR Radio Station in Santa Fe.
